Break Free Series

Wrapped Canvas | Oil Painting

Break Free is the first in the Raven series. This expressive oil painting explores empowerment, freedom, and the courage to move beyond what holds us back.

At the centre of the painting, a dark bird rises into the open sky, its wings spread wide as it moves away from the flowers below. The bird represents the moment of choosing freedom—the decision to step beyond fear, limitation, expectation, or anything that has kept us from fully becoming ourselves.

The stormy blues and purples create a sense of struggle and uncertainty, while the softer light and colourful flowers suggest hope, growth, and the possibility of transformation. The contrast between the dark bird and the luminous sky emphasizes breaking through difficult circumstances and finding a new sense of direction.

The flowers surrounding the lower portion of the painting represent the experiences, emotions, and challenges that shape us. They remain part of the journey, but they no longer have to define where we go.

Through expressive brushwork, layered colour, and symbolism, Break Free explores the strength it takes to let go, rise above, and choose your own path. Size: 10 inches x 10 inches, square wrapped canvas.
